History of the CDRGG

A little bit of history for anyone who cares.

The concept behind the CDRGG started way back in 1998 during schoolies week, when five young bright-eyed innocent bundy boys went camping for a week at the Coolum Caravan Park. A quiet low key week followed in what would become an extremely memorable time in all our lives for numerous reasons. Such a good time was had that it quickly became a regular event. Once a year we would get together, sent up the taj mahal, play some cards and have a beer or two. This tradition continued for many years with different line ups every time. Until the camping trip of 2001 when A. Gear finally stopped being the softest man in bundy and decided to come camping. It was from this trip that the foundation members of the CDRGG were finalised. The punters club (PC) however didn't even exist at this stage, in fact it officially started in 2004. The idea behind the PC was to get everyone adding money during the year to pay for our camping trip. Thus the creation of the CDRGG, whose name incidently is actually derived from the names of the foundation members - Corey Dan Robert Greeky & Gaz. Once we overcame the initial problem of no one having any idea about betting, we were soon flying along nicely. The potential of the PC was clear to everyone involved (& those who weren't) and it didn't take long before we had people wanting, no begging to become members. So after two years, two additional members and several memorable events (such as Gaz's bucks week) the CDRGG enters its third year. In what is sure to be its biggest year yet.
