Nuts' World Cup Diary #3

The last few days were absolutely sensational! After getting to Munich we took a tour of the first nazi concentration camp at Dauchau just 40 minutes outside of Munich. What a sombre experience - just to be in the camp where 40000 people were murdered was extremely eerie!! After that we took a third reich tour of the city. It's amazing to see so many buildings that were once the heart of the nazi regime. That night we met up with the boys at the greatestbeer hall of the world - the Hofbrauhaus. Drinking 1L steins while singing aussie chants with hundreds of other aussies was out of this world!!! The next day we took a tour down to Germany's most famous shloss (castle), which is towards the Bavarian Alps. It was only built in the 1870's so its still in pretty good nick! That was awesome!

The day after that was the Brazil game. Tha allinaz arena was unbelievable!! Even though we were robbed by the worst referee in the world, it was still the best experience. Especially being so close to the field and the goal, outstanding!!! The next day we took a tour down to Salzburg in Austria. For those of you who don't know it's the birth place of Mozart. (Ed - As if anyone didn't know that) It was a beautiful old city - seeing churches that were built in the 8th century was something to remember!

Germany is just unbelievable! The people are so nice (and most speak excellent english which is a relief). We have just had an absolute ball so far - it's just something else to have the whole country obsessed with football at the moment!!! And after talking to a few aussies over here , i realise how lucky we were to get tickets! A lot of poeple either paid over $1000 a ticket or have just come over to sample the atmosphere. Oh yeah nd to finish off, the beer here is awesome!! Plenty of beers and still no headache the day after. Well, we better head off. After Ohringen we'll be back for a tour of the porshe museum. Man life's tough. Nuts.
